DH grilled a thick med rare ribeye (7 oz?) a couple of nights ago using a new recipe with olive oil. It was a mistake. The when the olive oil ran, all the seasoning went with it. Sooo it's been sitting in the fridge. No one in my house wants a reheated, unseasoned steak.

So--what can I do with it now?

It'd make a (some kind of) meal for my two boys, but what?

Can you slice it thin and add seasonings and give it a quick stir fry, like fajitas? Maybe add it to a salad with some flavorful dressing and it will take on the flavor of the salad dressing.

Or slice it up, saute some mushrooms and onions and a little garlic in some olive oil til soft, throw in the steak, add some salt and pepper, stir to heat through, then add some sour cream and a little paprika - ta-da, stroganoff! I do that a lot with leftover beef, we don't like it just reheated on its own.

The other thing I do with it is make steak sandwiches (we use Ezekiel bread) with mayo, spicy mustard, sliced sweet onion and/or banana pepper rings, lettuce, tomato...

Or steak salad, just slice it up and put all the salad stuff you usually like in a bowl, toss with your favorite dressing, add the steak on top and salt/pepper it.

OR grind it up in a food processor and make sloppy joes with it!

Oh my...first I had no idea, now I can't decide WHICH idea. They all sound so good!

I'm thinking the stroganoff will satisfy my current comfort food craving.

Thanks, guys!
