IMHO, you cannot avoid things like cornstarch in everything. You can only do the best you can do.
And the amount of baking powder that is used in most recipes, divided by the number of servings, would not be much. Extrapolate that out to include how much cornstarch is in the baking powder and you are talking minute quantities.
