Calculating your BMI
You need three things to calculate your BMI:
1. Your weight in pounds
2. Your height in inches
3. Your calculator
THE BODY MASS INDEX FORMULA IS:
Weight (pounds) x 705 divided by height (inches) x height (inches)
Example:
A woman is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 180 pounds.
Her weight x 705= 180 x 705 = 126,900
Height x height =
65 x 65 = 4.225
126,900 divided by 4.225 = 30.04
Her BMI is 30
If you are using metrics you can calculate your BMI as follows:
Weight (kilograms) divided by height (meters) x height (meters)
