So far so good....

I am eating INDUCTION approved foods only--but, have not been rigid about measuring. :? I know that will have to change to continue to lose weight.

I have been faithful about drinking water this go around. At least
64 oz. daily which is a HUGE improvement for me... I keep reminding myself about one of Lindy's post (dirty fish tank water) or something like that.

Another challenge I face is PRE-PLANNING. I think this is the biggest reason for my SLIP (for lack of a better term) If I pre-plan, I will have the groceries that I need on hand and won't have to try to work around what is in the fridge/pantry.

As of today, my hardest time of the day is NIGHTTIME. After supper and before bed. That's is when sugar snacks call me. I have not given in but I don't want to be tempted. Last night, I ate pork rinds w/ sour cream dip. This morning my fingers feel tight. Maybe too much sodium.

I want to stay on INDUCTION foods until I lose at least 50 pounds. At this point, I don't feel like I could limit anything off that plan.

This morning's weight was still 199 :D I want to get further away from 200...

Breakfast: ham and cheese roll ups

Dana,
Evenings are the worst time for me too. I totally sympathize.
Last night I kept myself from over-eating on legal stuff after dinner by just munching on hulled sunflower seeds. Takes a while to get to that little seed and it satisfied my munchy behavior craving.

Planning is a key and a must to keep making this WOE work for your lifetime. It took me a long time to realize that. Eventually it will become habit and it will feel "normal".

The way I make it through the evenings right now is to drink, drink, drink. And stay busy, away from the kitchen and not in front of the TV. Those are my triggers. You have to find what works for you.

Great job so far! You can do it and you DESERVE it!

Thanks Erica...I am still struggling with pre-planning. I have printed out a couple of months of food calendars so beginning July-no more excuses. Just a habit that I have never developed fully.

Yesterday for lunch I had grilled liver and onions, broccoli, marinated mushrooms.

Supper: Chicken salad w/ tomato slices and cucumbers

Snack: Cream cheese w/ splenda and unsweetened coco :?

Water: 66 oz

B: coffee w/ splenda (this has really got to change) I don't know why I don't want to eat in the mornings. About 10a I start thinking I'm hungry and of course today I didn't bring anything to work.

Monday-- July 3

My journey so far. I think I came back to EA board on May 31st. I was sooo miserable and disappointed in myself.

As of today...I have lost 9 lbs :D

I am only eating induction foods but, not measuring accurately so that is one area I need to correct.

I am drinking 66 oz of water a day but, I think I should really be
drinking closer to 100 oz as I am 77 lbs overweight. Any imput in that area would be appreciated :?

Breakfast: coffee w/ splenda & creamer
sliced roast beef

Lunch: not sure yet

Dinner: sliced roast/baked chicken
vegatables

snack: L/C ice cream bar (4 net carbs)

(6) DAYS W/ NO POST

This is how I managed to gain back 30 pounds..

Okay... it's been a bad week. Started with TOM and went down from there. I haven't weighed this week. Better wait til next Monday or I may be discouraged. I notice swelling in my hands each morning. Too much sodium and not enough water.

Wednesday Breakfast: coffee w/ splenda
Lunch: vegatables w/ baked chicken
Supper: ?

Supper last night: grilled chicken strips, sausage, and mushrooms
alfredo sauce over all

Friday breakfast: sausage
Lunch: leftover chicken/sausage/mushrooms
cauliflower

I seem to go from eating too much to not eating enough.
pre-plan pre-plan pre-plan
maybe if I say it and type it enough times it will sink into this thick brain of mine

Update on time since last posting....

July....began having weekly blood test because over the course of
time my white blood count had continued to climb with no indications of infection

August...luekemia confimed (still not sure I spell it right)

September...more test to confirm which level I am. If there is any
thing good about this disease..there are two types: Acute and Chronic. I have Chronic or (CLL) This type has to be closely monitored with blood and lymph node checks, but, I do not have treatments until syptoms begin. And as of Jan. I have no symptoms.

October...husband w/ heart disease developed a blood infection. Month spent in and out of hospital and home health. All is well now.

November...Fallout from (3) months previous!!

December-January...holidays. Daughter and family (total 5) move in with us  Our youngest grandchild was born in May and spent 1 month in neo-natal unit and has had 2 hospital visits since then. Needless to say medical bills are unbelieveable even with health insurance. So until they can recover financially they are staying with us. There is much clutter but, much love and hugs!

NOW...I find myself in Feburary 2007. I have gained almost all of my weight back. I probably weigh 207. I thought I would never see 200 again. Well, here I am and miserable. All everyone in the office talks about is weight and I have developed such an attitude about it. Of course, I hold all that inside. All I want is to get back to where I was a couple of years ago. That frame of mind. I know what works and need to just get started. So this is where I find
my starting place.

{{{DAna}}} If anyone needs them, it is you. What a year it has been for you.

Maybe doing Atkins will make you feel like you have some contol over your whirlwind of a life. Good luck.
