Feeling good this morning :D Ran again last night...still struggling to complete a full W1D1, but I am gradually working up to it. I guess I shouldnt expect it to be THAT easy at 225lbs!

Little bummed though, got some news this morning that has put a damper on my plans. Gabe & I were planning to move to the suburbs September 1st, but the landlady just called to let us know that the other tenant has decided to stay after all. bummer! BUT..I know everything happens for a reason, so maybe we were meant to find a better place or something :D

My dear Gabe is being a total sweetie & bringing me lunch today at work. He is driving from our house, about 10+ miles east to get the food (some Puerto Rican steak sandwich that I "HAVE to try") & then back SW another 30 miles or so to bring it to me. After all that work it better be good

Glad you are feeling better Karen and Kudos to you for giving up the "Evil Weed"

Gabe sounds like he may be "THEE" one for you. So glad you are happy.
The move you are looking for will come...like you said...these things happen for a reason and there is always something better just around the corner (metaphorically speaking! )

Lol, thank's Sue! I am feeling better already now that I have not smoked at all. It has also helped me to cut out most alcohol as well (not that I drank all that often, but still) And yes, I am 99.9% certain that he is thee one for me :D I didn't think the perfect man exsisted, but apparently it just took me 28 years to find him LOL. We've talked wedding bells & babies, and we're on the same page, so things are going well

Well, TOM is right around the corner & according to Gabe I was a "demon" on Saturday, but still managed not to smoke. (Oh how I wanted nothing more than to light up a half pack of cigarettes!)

Since Friday I have been experiencing some more ULQ pain again. Not excruciating, but annoying none-the-less. I'm trying to figure out if it somehow has something to do w/ my menstrual cycle. Last time I had the excruciating pain, it was the week before my period as well. Strange. Who knows. Thank goodness for my appointment Thursday!

Other than me being a demon this weekend & having our first real argument on Saturday, we had a good time. Saturday night we went out for some drinks for his birthday & of course rounded out the evening by getting some tacos at 1am. ( and I wonder WHY i'm having pains, right?) I posted some pics under the picture forum.

FINALLY went to see the gastroenterologist today. Nothing has been determined just yet though unfortunately. I have to go on the 20th for a colonoscopy (oh joy! ) as well as an endoscopy I believe it is. I can honestly say that I am not thrilled w/ the idea at all, but I guess I have no other choice in order to figure out what's going on with my innards. :D

Don't fret that colonscopy. It is such a no brainer. The people there are so matter of fact about it. YOu will do fine.

I've had both Karen....no probs and as Patty said...the staff do this every day and really put you at ease. It is just a few minutes of embarrassment that you forget very quickly once you get the all clear and diagnosis.
All will be over soon and they can help you get on with living your life a lot less painfully.

Thanks, guys. Question for you ladies that have already had a colonoscopy. My dad was telling me that ever time he has gone for a colonoscopy they give him a sedative/ansthetic but he is still awake. My doctor said they'd give me something to "make you sleepy", however the person that scheduled my appointment told me that I would be put out. I guess i"m just trying to figure out what to expect.

I have two memories from my colonoscopy. One is the nurse walking into my little cubicle and saying "Alright, we're taking you in now." The other is the same nurse saying "Time to get dressed and go home!"

That's it. They do not use general anesthesia to completely knock you out, as for surgery, but the sedation they give is very heavy. I don't know anyone who recalls having any awareness of the actual procedure. No discomfort, no pain, no embarrassment or awkwardness at all.

And one good thing--whatever they gave me made me feel GREAT the whole rest of the day! I made my husband take me out to lunch--you'll be starving and thirsty after emptying yourself out so thoroughly for the prep the night before--and then we went and walked around the mall. Now that I think of it, maybe I was just giddy that it was over!

They gave me the prescription to get filled for the laxative. Do not plan on going anywhere after you take it.

They told me the cleaning out process would be easier if I stuck to light foods two days before and then clear liquids the day before. I think they do not want you to ingest anything with red dyes either.

The morning of the procedure, you will need someone to accompany you as you will not be able to drive home.

They called me into a little dressing room and gave me a gown to put on. I could leave my bra on but everything from the waist down comes off. Then I went into the room with the bed/stretcher in it. The came over and covered me with a warm blanket and then started an iv in my hand. I went out cold. I vaguely remember thinking they were pushing on my stomach but then the next thing I knew, I was waking up and they had me sit on the bed for a minute and then walked back to the little room and get dressed. Be sure to wear something that just slips on...like sweatpants as your coordination might not be good enough to handle buttons. I could tie my shoes just fine. DH came in and escorted me out and that was it.

I wasn't even sleepy the rest of the day but they did not allow me to drive for 24 hours.

HI Karen,

I have had both as well!

Nothing to an endoscopy. Go in, take a nap.

As for colonoscopy, worse part is the prep. However, the test is easy. Go in, take a nap.

You don't remember anything!

I am probably heading for my second colonoscopy next month. I see my gastro doc this week. Again, piece of cake.

Good luck!

Awesome, ladies! This makes me MUCH less freaked out about the whole thing. :D Yes, I was given my laundry list of what I can & cannot do prior to the procedure. And yes Patty, I'm not allowed to have anything that is colored red, purple or orange. The day of my prep I am only allowed to have clear liquids, no cream/milk & nothing w/ pulp (along w/ nothing red, purple or orange). Ugh..I'll be happy once it's over :D

Had a great weekend. One of my closest friends came in from AZ for her 30th bday (pictures will be posted on pic board). Had a great time & now I am COMPLETELY pooped! I am ready for bed :D I can't hang like I used to! Staying up til 6am wasn't ever a problem before...I guess this might mean that I'm getting a little bit old LOL

Oh well, this too shall pass. :D

Happy hump day!
