I figure after 4+ months, I should start writing down some of my feelings.
I feel great. I really do. I have lost 23 pounds in 4 months.
I like not feeling bloated. I like not feeling stuffed all the time. And most importantly, I like fitting into clothes that haven't fit for a while. I like the fact that my double chin is gone. I like the fact that my butt has deflated, at least a little!
But I'm getting impatient. I know I didn't gain this weight overnight and I know it takes time....especially for those last pounds to come off. Heck, they may never even come off. I have 12 more to go. 12. 12. Only 12! I am almost at the finish line. But as I said...I am impatient. I haven't lost in a few weeks, which I know is normal.
I have reached the point, though, where I am not sure what I can do to kick start the loss again. I wanted to weigh 140 at Christmas. I don't think I can lose 7 pounds in that short of time, unless I starve myself....which I won't do.
Again, I am happy and I am very, very proud of myself. I'm just having one of those selfish "want more" days!

YAY Pumpkin!!
I like the journal feature, I just write my usual stream of conciousness and it really helps to read it over again sometimes. Did it feel good to write it?

Another day, more woe is me.
For some reason, the scale is up. I eat SO well......I can't figure it out. Maybe the snow outside falling has stuck with me and I am retaining snow! LOL
Anyways.......still trekking towards the 7 lbs. loss by Christmas. Not looking good, but I haven't faltered.
Albeit, I had a dream last night that I ate a whole apple pie. Whoops! Only a dream.
Tomorrow is another day....going to finish my chicken salad.

Today's Thursday....just finished off my bacon.
For the fourth day in a row, the scale is up......but I think I am not eating enough calories.
My eating has been clean. Perhaps my body is just taking a break.
As for the pounds being up, who knows? Some days, I just don't care.
Someone brought in these huge muffins at work today and they smell incredible. On days like these, it's tempting.
Maybe it's the cold weather that has me in a funk, too? Not sure.
I need to start working out again and maybe my body will snap back into gear. I haven't posted any losses since November 17th.

OK, time for my annual post on "Char's Theory of Winter-time Weight Gain!" LOL!
Evolution caused our ancestors to pack on some weight in the fall for the cold, lean months of winter. That's why fruit ripens summer/early fall - lots of good pound-packing fructose and carbs!
So don't beat yourself up for what your body is programmed to do - hang onto every last fat cell and try to accumulate MORE for those dreaded days-on-end where we won't be able to find food!
Unfortunately evolution hasn't yet caught up with the "land of plenty" for us....

Happy TGIF,
It snowed about 5 inches today and the roads were horrid, so that added to my stress. Muffins at work sure looked good today!
My pestering sinus issues are back and I am feeling miserable. Perhaps that is why I have been down lately.
I am hoping to start working out again tomorrow. I just took a sudafed and am "down for the count" with drowsiness....... I weigh tomorrow, so we'll see how the week has gone.

Happy Saturday!
After a long week, I am happy to report a two pound loss. I am not sure how, but I am not going to question it.
I'd like to lose 5 more by Christmas, but am aiming for 3. I have a lot of holiday gatherings coming up and even though I stay on plan, I sometimes eat too much.
Thank you, whooshie fairy, for the 2 pounds. It's been a while since that's happened.
I also lost another inch in my chest for a total so far of 4 inches. I don't think they can get any smaller! LOL If only that would happen to my hips!

What a gloomy, rainy Sunday. The snow has almost all melted.
I am feeling the effects of working out yesterday. My bum is very sore. Perhaps that means I gave it a good workout?
I have eaten well all weekend. Meatloaf has been my friend.
Nothing new to report. Scale still showing the loss from yesterday, so I know I wasn't dreaming.
I went to the store today to buy new underwear. It was actually a proud moment buying underwear TWO SIZES smaller (I haven't gotten new ones since I lost weight). I remember how upset I was when I had to buy them two sizes bigger....so I felt a little victory for sure.

It's Monday...and a dreary day it is. We're supposed to get freezing rain.
Can I tell you I am tired of winter already?
Sinus issues STILL bothering me. I cannot catch a break!
I am in the mood for a big bowl of chicken noodle soup. It just seems to fit with this time of year. In the meantime, however, I am sitting here with my turkey-rolled-cheese stick and some jello.
Can I pretend it's chicken noodle soup? Perhaps I would feel better.
Crazy thing happened yesterday. Everyone always says that your shoe size (when you're an adult) never changes. Since I have lost weight, I went from an 8 to a 7.5! Yesterday I went shoe shopping and every size 8 was too big.....and low and behold all of the 7.5's fit. Go figure!

I do this and add spices for a minestrone-type taste or hot sauce . . .
sometimes I put a bit of cabbage and a couple of carrot chunks in it

I was just going to say that I hear that putting cabbage in it in long thin strips does a good imitation of the noodle part. Haven't tried it yet but I bet it's pretty good!!
We got the freezing rain last night. Was pretty warm today, about 35 I think, but I think the lake effect snow machine is supposed to start up again tomorrow... or is it Wednesday... I don't like the snow very much but my over-active inner thermostat enjoys the colder temps, for sure.

UGH! Sinuses, sinuses, sinuses!
We're having a heatwave here at 45 degrees and it's really affecting my sinuses! My face is in such pain I want to cry! And my eye is leaking! LOL Very attractive!
At any rate, I enjoyed my chicken broth for lunch....but later realized it's not very filling....so my tummy is growling.
Another round of meatloaf this evening and a warm compress for my face. When will this end?!?!?!
