Patty, Teresa has that same DVD and it does kick butt. She insisted I do it with her when I was there in June. I couldn't do alot of it. She has lost 10 lbs just doing the DVD. She said she's more toned and defined because of it.
Tuesday - gym day - 50 min treadmill, 15 ex bike, sit ups.

I could do most of the first workout. I think I stopped once during the jumping jacks.
This morning, my quads are a bit tight but other than that I am ok. I was only using 3 pound weights so I am sure that helped. Kate said she started with 1 pound wights and has now moved up to 3's.
Exercise for today will be the botannical gardens.

Good morning. I have been MIA for a while due to being busy and then some back problems. I need to get back in the exercise groove.
Tuesday-3 mile walk
We didn't go until 8 PM but it still was hot and humid. Felt like a wet towel when we got home.

Thursday - gym day - 50 min treadmill, bike was in use so I used the elliptical and I did like it. I tend to stay away from it, but I might alternate between that and the bike - 15 minutes on that. Sit ups and few weights

Hi Patty, lucky for me I didn't sprain it. It was sore last night but woke up and not much pain at all. I even ran on it this morning, did only 3 miles, but no pain. I dodged this bullet so I must learn to slow down!!
How is your foot?

Glad to hear that you are unscathed.
My foot is better but not best. I think walking barefoot on the beach has done it some good.
We read some interesting running books at the beach.
God On The Starting Line by Marc Bloom - "The triumph of a Catholic School running team and it's Jewish coach."
Once a Runner by John L Parker Jr. actually fiction but very good if you have had any contact with a competitive runner. It tracks a college kid through his collegiate running career.
Born to Run by Christopher McDougall - I haven't read this one yet but MIke and Scott have been quoting it ad nauseum.

The Once a Runner looks like a good book for Charles. I think I'll take a look on Amazon.
Walking in the sand is very good for feet. Glad it's feeling better.

I just went back a page or two to catch up with you guys. LOVE the book titles.
Good to see you, 4me.
The injuries.... Be careful! Hope all of you are healing well.
I've been gone this week, so I won't log in all my workouts, but I'm happy to say that I'm exactly halfway through my program and--of the 6-days-a-week workouts--I have not missed a one of them...Not even when I was out of town for four days. THAT's a first.

Welcome back D4me and Teechah!
I was wondering where you were Teechah - did you have to go away for school?
Sunday - 5 mile run

Carrie...Haven't you been trying to build up to a 5 mile run??? If so, Congratualtions. That is a huge milestone mentally.
DH is making noise about the 1/2 marathon in New Orleans in February. We will not run it but we may try to walk it. No way can his hip take 13 miles of running. It will be hard for me to not run it. If I started training right now, I could be ready. Of course I would never walk again on this foot. Katie wants to run the full.
Saturday...2.5 mile walk with DH and the dog.
