if i walk for one hr a day, is it more or less effective to walk 2 half hours vs. 1 whole hour? i want to think 2 half hours may be better to help keep your metabolism, but i don't know. any answers are appreciated. :)

I don't exercise, even though I know I should.

But my gut instinct (no pun intended) is that walking one hour would be better than two 1/2-hour sessions. It would be more likely to raise your metabolism. But hopefully someone who really knows instead of just guessing will answer.

I don't think it would matter which you did. What would matter in either case, though, is that you get your heart rate up. The guide is that after about 5 mins, you get up to a point where you are working hard enough that you could carry on a conversation, but you would rather not. Then, you cool down the last 5 mins. Be sure to stretch before and after so you don't get sore.
