hi,
I went to my docotor for a check up last week.I told him I was planning on doing Atkins again.....he likes the atkins diet as well.
He suggested that I try the "MEDIFAST" diet. When he first started out he worked as an intership strictly for medifast diets. He told me the people he seen had excellent results.I told him I am a person who the food needs to taste good.He told me a lot about the diet and gave me the web-site to look up some info.We agreed that I would try it for 30 days.I know this is n ot low carb and it does put you in mild ketosis. Its quite expensive too,but you have 30 days money back guarantee if you don't lose weight.I know,I know,I can lose on Atkins but I'm going to try this.
I hope I don't get any slack over this.I'm willing to try anything and my friend and her mom are doing it also.I will keep you posted and let you know how it works. My doc gives it thumbs up!!We shall see.
Thanks for listening.

My sister is doing a hospital-based program, called HMR

I understand that you are committed to starting Medifast, but thought you might want to check this out. To start out, you have shakes, 2 frozen entrees, your own veggies and fruits. Classes each week teach you how to eat, and gradually you substitute more and more real food for the pre-packaged. I think learning how to eat is real important to her. She is doing well.

I'm a cynic. I'd bet he got some kind of referral fee for putting you on this. But if it works, good for you.

What I meant was that the DOCTOR received some kind of kick-back for putting you on this program. Not from you, from Medifast.

I needed change so I started this diet and have lost 9 lbs so far.

I needed a much structed program for myself as I felt that I was never succeeding on Atkins.

The only food I have with issues with is the oatmeal so I will never buy that again....yuck!

I eat 5 small meals throughout the day about every 3 hours and have a lean meal at night (7oz lean meat and 1 1/2 cup veges)

I am never hungry so I have had no set backs.

People at work are doing this and everyone has been so successful. My boss has already lost 40 lbs and he looks great!

Anyhow.........I know this is very much an atkins board but since I have been hanging out alot I still will and enjoy the off topics.

I had a client that did Medifast and it worked for him. He is an older, single man and I don't think he cooked much, so the shakes were easy for him and he didn't mind just eating one meal a day, but when he got hungry during the day, he would eat hard boiled eggs.

It worked real well for him.

Good luck.
